The state of modern Russian-Chinese relations is discussed in this article. In the author's opinion in the middle of the first decade of the XXI century a very favourable political atmosphere has developed for a versatile and dynamic cooperation. However, not all its parameters satisfy the Russian side. For instance, during the last years the quality of the Russian export to the Chinese People's Republic has essentially worsened from the point of view of the portion of goods with a high level of the added value in it. The scale of cooperation in the sphere of investments and production is still relatively modest. And although the measures taken by both sides are aimed at gradually overcoming this situation, further efforts of scientists, politicians and businessmen are necessary in the field of the study and realization of the potential of the Russian-Chinese cooperation as well as necessary is a frank opinion exchange concerning the short-comings of the cooperation.
