Abstract
What can tie the Zulus and the Kazakhas? It turns out that according to the documents of the XIX cent, even then there were contacts between Russia and South Africa, and the population of these countries had formed ideas about each other. The available evidence is diverse, fragmentary, not always compatible and not fully comprehensible. But all of it shows that such different peoples, living far from one another as the Kazakhs and the Zulus have had mutual contacts and ideas since the olden times.
