Abstract
The increase in terrorist threat or its reduction in the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) can be regarded as a general indicator of conditions in all the Near and Middle East. The dangerously explosive situation in this region influences the stability of the whole world. This region is the basic incubator of the terrorist organizations which conduct the subversive activities not only in the region of the Near and Middle East, but also all over the world. Also there is a majority of oil stocks in this region that makes countries of the world community dependent on its deliveries, whereas this defines stability of their political systems to a certain extent. The analysis of terrorist tendencies in the IRI for the last 11 years indicates that there is a real ethnic opposition to an existing regime in the country on behalf of the radical terrorist organizations which recently have strengthened their activity. But this activity does not constitute a direct threat to the existence of the Islamic sociopolitical system in Iran.
