Abstract
The factors that facilitated Japanese developments in industry, science and technology, are those that maintained national identity of the Japanese. They are known as wakon, or Japanese spirit. The paper narrates about the Japanese mentality and especially about Japanese methods of management known in the world as kaizen, monozukuri, in which analogies of Sintoistic worldview can be found.
