Abstract
The paper discusses the assassination of Abu-l Fazl Allami, an outstanding statesman, reformer and writer of Mughal India. Available narratives provide information which sheds light upon the specific features of Mughal statehood, especially within the problematic framework of “motion and power”, as well as socio-cultural and political aspects of the ruling elites.
